LAND PLANNING EXAMPLES:

This project was conducted remotely.

The clients contacted us two weeks prior to beginning construction on three small residential buildings.** Their land was entirely undeveloped.

The following was requested:

• Input on the intended location of the 3 buildings in proportion and in relation to the land as a whole. (views, neighbours, access, use of space)

• Building orientation and shadow study*

• Comments on the building internal layout (flow and use of space)

*Typically, we do shadow studies on the Solstices in order to assess the light on the longest and shortest day. In the tropics, however, being too hot is the major consideration. This shadow study is dated 15 April, which is approximately the hottest time of the year. In this case, the living space and porch NOT being in too much direct sunlight is the objective while orientating the building.

**Unlike Europe, building regulations are not enforced on Ometepe Island, so the clients have the option to remix designs last minute.

Property planning and permaculture garden design for a property in the Algarve, Portugal. 

This project is being conducted in-person. (still in progress, final designs & implementation taking place soon)

The clients approached us with a fairly clear vision for their residential rural property. 

The following was requested:

• Input on concerning areas such as erosion, unstable cliffs, (steep gradients) collapsing terraces, and general water management

• Visualisation images to aid in the decision making process between all parties (to make sure everyone is agreeing to the same concept)

• Visualisations images with measurements which could be used for quotation purposes.

• A garden focused on producing food, promoting healthy ecology, creating a lovely living context - all with consideration of fire risk and water scarcity.
